Formed in late 1992, SERE (pronounced "Seer") has spent the last year or so doing recordings and playing shows around New York City, building an ever-growing following and a strong repertoire of material with a unique blend go sounds.

The band consists of ex-members os NYCis NORMAN BATES AND THE SHOWERHEADS, a Motorhead-like punk-rock band whose self-titled album (Desperate Records), compilation appearances, including the now classic New York Hardcore - where the wild thing are... (Black Out!). National touring kept them high on a list of New York favorites among fans, bands and club-owners. A few month after the break-up of NBSH, SERE was formed.

"What we wanted to do with SERE, "says bassman/vocalist J, "was to take the straight-forward, no nonsens flavor of NORMAN BATES and deepen it some, keeping the double vocal thing."Guitarist/vocalist Jim states:"We´ve slowed down the pace in some parts, adding a bit more weight; with dynamics we´ve never before touched, even some loose jamming. "Although some parts of our set get quieter and maybe more subtle, we´ll always play fast and loud.

Maybe too loud sometimes? "We´re always being told to turn it down, (mostly by the club´s soundman)" says drummer Mike Bys, but some says, "we should be even louder, (mostly half-deaf show-goers), I don´t get it."

In March of 1994, SERE released its first published piece; a two song 7 inch on desperate records: "Nerve Surge"/ "Carries a Knife" - so here it is on X`N`O now!
